I had the opportunity to attend a National Science Foundation NOYCE Scholars (pre-service STEM teachers) conference in San Francisco this year (2014). While there I attended several sessions that included getting students engaged in science and how to use reading and writing to learn science. Here are the links to the presenters resources.
